MRSEF Scholarships & Grants

The Mission Ridge Ski Education Foundation Board of Directors is committed to providing means of financial assistance to MRSEF athletes in order for them to pursue ski racing excellence.  These Scholarships and Grants are designed to provide critical funds for qualified, talented athletes who otherwise would be unable to finance their ski racing ambitions.

Scholarship & Grant Opportunities

Scholarships: A request for funds to offset MRSEF tuition costs, including summer and fall camps.  Funds for Scholarships are available to the U16 Level and above.

Scholarship Application Time Period: Completed applications for program tuition scholarships must be submitted by November 13th of each year. Applications for camp tuition scholarships must be submitted by May 1st of each year.

Grants: A request for funds to assist a participant competing in an upcoming event or events. Grants are available to MRSEF U14 through U21 athletes whose pursuit of ski racing excellence creates a financial burden to their families.

Grant Application Time Period: Due to the nature of race qualifications, completed grant applications may be submitted throughout the ski season with a cutoff date of May 1st.

Grant Application Guidelines: The specific purpose of the Grant should be clearly stated and supported by a budget outlining exactly what the funds will be used for and where other sources of funding are available and being sought.

Grant Follow-up: A follow-up report is to be submitted by the Grant recipient within ten days of the conclusion of the event(s). The report is to include full accounting of how the provided funds were used, including receipts and if possible, action photos from the event(s).

Scholarship and Grant Funding Limits: Individuals may request a maximum of $1,000.00 per ski season via the Scholarship Program with a limit of $2,000.00 per season of combined Scholarship and Grants. The minimum amount for Grant application is $250.00 with a maximum of $1,000.00.

Distribution of Scholarship and Grant Funds: Awarded funds will be applied to the members MRSEF account or paid to the event hosting organization. Funds are not to be paid directly to the athlete or family member nor credited to the members account for any purpose other than that stated in the Scholarship or Grant Application.  Reimbursement to members accounts for fees already paid are to be considered outside the scope of the Scholarship and Grant program.
